Troy Andres

Practice Leader

“My interest in immigration started in high school when I won an award for a creative writing piece that I submitted to the NSW Parliament in respect to meeting labour/skill shortages in the late 80s and early 90s. At the time, Australia was experiencing the recession (it had to have) and we learnt about multi-skilling and tariff removal which gave rise to globalisation (another word for competitive integration).

From that point onwards, I continually wondered why we did not just let people into the country. Clearly, this was a naive view on immigration but it did spark a curiosity that continues to burn today. That interest has turned into determination as I guide (and inspire) my team to service our clients to the standards that we apply to our own lives. That standard is about giving, caring, intelligence and pushing ourselves past excellence.”

Kerin Bhatty

Client Manager

“My interest in immigration law became apparent when I assisted my relatives from abroad to apply for various visas, including a tourist visa, to enter Australia. The sense of satisfaction I received from being able to assist my relatives to reunite with my family and providing them with an opportunity to explore our abundant and truly diverse country was beyond imaginable. My goal when entering this ever-growing field of law was to help other families reunite and experience the happiness that comes with this reunion. Three years on, my goal remains the same. The only difference is it has expanded. I am not only helping families reunite, I am also assisting businesses recruit the right talent from overseas, allowing individuals to fulfil their dreams of working in Australia and achieving career goals, boosting the Australian economy with talent and skills and allowing people to start a new life in Australia, a place they can call home."

Poorvaja Nirmaleswaran

Consultant

“My obsession with immigration law spans back to my own experience in migrating to Australia. Having gone through the process at a young age, I was curious to understand the different visa categories, what it meant for applicants and why certain visas afforded rights that others didn’t. This eventually drove me to study law and register as a Migration Agent. With the experience that I have gained and continued to gain here at Gilton Valeo, I look forward to assisting individuals, families and businesses alike to make what could be daunting process simple and predictable."
